The Role

The Backend Developer will design and build robust server-side APIs that power our web applications and chatbot services. This role ensures secure data handling, scalable backend architecture, and seamless integration with frontend systems and AI services.

Key Responsibilities

• Core Development: Build RESTful APIs from scratch and design database schemas using PostgreSQL.
• Authentication Systems: Implement secure authentication using JWT tokens and password hashing with bcrypt.
• API Architecture: Develop CRUD APIs for application features like user onboarding, plan management, and service requests.
• Chatbot Integration: Integrate AI services such as OpenAI GPT, Google Dialogflow, AWS Lex, or Microsoft Bot Service.
• Backend Logic: Route requests from frontend applications and securely manage API keys.
• Collaboration: Work closely with frontend developers to deliver clean API endpoints for application features.
• System Reliability: Implement server-side validation, logging, and error handling.

Qualifications & Skills

Minimum Requirements

• 2+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong experience with REST API development.
• Experience with Node.js / Python backend frameworks.
• Database experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Understanding of authentication systems such as JWT.

Preferred (Bonus) Skills

• Experience integrating AI services such as OpenAI, Dialogflow, or AWS Lex.
• Knowledge of NLP concepts like Intent, Entity, and Fulfillment.
• Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS or DigitalOcean.
